Abilene week 22

Elder Moffitt at the Lubbock Temple
Before my mission I always made fun of anyone who took a selfie, but now I just accept it as a part of life.

Here is Elder Banks and I at the Lubbock Temple. It was amazing to be able to go and do an endowment session at the Temple. The new movie was eye opening to me. It was really neat. I was surprised how much I forgot, but then immediately remembered as I was going through the temple. I hope and pray that I can help some people (Javier and Flo, and Nancy and Griselda) to be baptized soon. It would be an amazing experience to be able to go through the temple with them for the first time in a year.

Now for a little bit about Javier and Flo this week. We were able to have a couple really good lessons with them talking about the commandments, and members were able to come with us both times, always great. Their testimonies that they shared in the lessons were perfect too. Their baptism is still set for this coming Friday, the 22nd. Unfortunately, they were not able to make it to church yesterday, and we do not know why. Their phone was off when we tried calling them, and no one was home. We figure it was something to do with their family coming in on Saturday night, but we will definitely be stopping by their place tonight to see what´s up. The baptism should still happen, and I have been praying so hard for them that they will be baptized soon. They have so much working against them right now, but I know if the Lord is working for them (which of course He is), it will all work out. Just pray hard for them this week!

Nancy and Griselda were not at church either ( But we were able to have 2 lessons this week with them too.) They were both really good, and they told us how they both still know this is the right thing to be doing and that the Book of Mormon is true. I think the reason they were not at church is because the member that was going to give them a ride was not able to come to church this week either for unknown reasons. Still, their baptism is scheduled for the 30th, so pray for them too!

Church was still really good on Sunday. Even though we didn´t have any investigators. Nicolas and Eliseo were there. There were a bunch of less active people that came out this week. Gloria, the sister of our ward mission leader, has come out for the last 3 weeks in a row. She hadn't been to church for like 7 years, but now she´s basically active again. The branch had a temple trip to do baptisms this last Saturday. She went and got her grandson baptized. There were 5 people in the branch who had never been to the temple who went for their first time this week to do baptisms. It was great. Unfortunately, we can´t go with them, but it´s all good. We got to go to the temple anyway this week. There were a couple other less actives that came as well. One of them, Yassiel, received the Aaronic Priesthood. As you can see, still a good week at church.

This week we went on 2 super long road trips. On Tuesday we drove down to San Angelo, which was about a 2 hour drive for our zone conference. Pretty crazy that everything is that far apart in the mission huh?

As you can see, on the way back we got pizza to eat in the car. I don´t know what it is, but I guess a $5 large pizza is hard to resist for us missionaries. Of course when we went to 7 11 for drinks I had to get a Mucho Mango. And I convinced Elder Banks into getting one for the first time too. He liked it. Obviously.
I did get the Christmas music package! Thank you so much. The first day I got it we listened to the nutcracker CD 2 times through in the car that day. The next day we ended up listening to the piano CD 3 times, and now today we are on the Michael Buble CD. It´s great. We love it. Thanks! Today we are emailing at the library for the first time ever. New rule. It´s pretty funny, all of the computers were being used except for the Spanish one, so that´s what I´m using right now. You only YOLO once right? ¿Adivina que? Yes, I have upside question marks, but I haven´t figured out how to use the accent marks yet.

My new specialty....burritos!

Here are some delicious burritos I made. I hope you all don´t think all I do is eat, but I guess that´s one of the few times I remember to take pictures. Haha

Here is us enjoying all the halloween candy we bought at Walmart for half price the week following Halloween.

A few nights ago the moon was super big and bright (you can´t see how big it really was in this dang picture). Anyway, check it out... "the field is white and ready to harvest." Yeah? Yeah?
A Beautiful Texas Sunrise!

The sunrise this morning was beautiful, so I had to snap a picture of it.
Well, I think that´s about all I´ve got for this week, but guess what? I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
