Pampa week 1

Elder Moffitt, Elder Banks and the Bundy's
Elder Moffitt's last Sunday in Abilene.
Elder Moffitt and Elder Banks...What an awesome team they make, said Sister Bundy!
Elder Moffitt and the Bundy's
Said Sister Bundy...."We hope Elder Moffitt gets to come back and see our Spanish Branch and see the fruits of his labors.  He arrived to Abilene when we had just started the Branch and his work has been so important and many have been blessed because of his efforts.  Thank you for not only raising such a fine young man, but for sharing him with the people of Texas! We sure do love him! He has a smile that lights up the room and a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.  You can be proud that he has been a great example of a missionary and the priesthood.  He will be missed by many here in Abilene, but what a blessing he will be in his new area!
Elder Moffitt and Elder Banks teaching the Bundy's a lesson on how we can help with the missionary work.  We had them over for pizza...it was Elder Moffitts last day before transfers.  We will miss him but we know that we will see him again!

Here I am saying goodbye to my good buddy Elder Watson who came out at the same time as me. He knew of my love for Nesquik and he gave me a cup and a spoon with some strawberry mix as a going away present for me. How kind of him.
I left 3 ties behind in Abilene. I know I only have 2 in this picture, but I had already given one to Javier and showed him how to tie it. The cool striped one I gave to Azriel. His favorite color is blue, and I think it is a cool looking tie to give to a 19 year old. The funky polkadotted one I gave to Eliseo, who said he would wear a white shirt and tie if I gave him a tie. I think it matches his personality very well. haha.
And here I am saying goodbye to some more of my missionary friends at the transfer site and getting on the bus to leave.

And here I am one week ago, all packed up, heading out of Abilene. Sad day :( But don't worry, it's nice up here in Pampa too.
Guess who I saw at the bus stop in Lubbock? Elder King! I was the first one off the bus, and he just yells "Elder Moffitt! My Son!" It was a good reunion.
MTC companions, Elder Powell and Elder Moffitt

And for the first time in my whole mission I finally got to see Elder Powell! There was much rejoicing.

On the ride up to Pampa, look what I found: the way to be happy!
Meet Elder Pahulu my new companion from Hawaii
Since Elder Pahulu is Hawaiian, he is allowed to wear his lavalava, the traditional clothing over in the islands. Lol, just kidding. But he did have to put it on to show one of the families we are teaching. In that picture you can see little 9 year old Samael, or Samaelito as we also call him. Make sure you don't say Samuel with a "U" or he will get very offended. He's a sweet guy. He should be getting baptized on the 1st of February. His family got baptized a couple years ago but they have been inactive. They're starting to come back, and Samael wants to get baptized, so we will be there to help him along.

Here is Samaelito with his sister showing us their bow and arrow. Pretty legit.
First dinner with the new guys!

My planner cover for this transfer is of Jesus performing some miracles of healing. I thought that the love he is showing for everyone is good because this transfer has Valentine's day. And also because it's a miracle I finally got out of Abilene! haha! Don't get me wrong, I love it there; I was just starting to think I would never leave.

Another one of our investigators is names Ana. Her daughter, who is in her 20s, got baptized last week. She also took some of the lessons with her daughter and she is on the path to baptism too. We set a date with her this week for the 8th of February. She made it out to church on Sunday and participated in Sunday school too.

Our last solid investigator we have is a 15 year old girl named America. Her dad, Jorge was baptized a couple years ago. No one else in her family is baptized. Her mom has read the Book of Mormon 3 times and never received an answer it is true. Hmmm. But we had a couple good lessons with her this last week. On Thursday night we did splits. So Elder Pahulu and I went with members to different lessons. I went to the one with America, and she prayed with us for the first time ever! It was exciting stuff.

Anyway, just a  little more about the area... We cover the south half of the city and all the Spanish for the city. The Sister Missionaries who we split the ward with cover the other half of the city. There were I heard 140 people at sacrament this last week and that is supposedly the most there has been in like 4 years. Legitness. Surprisingly, there is lots of Spanish here. I teach likely the same amount of lessons in Spanish here as I did in Abilene. I hope it stays that way. Well, hit me up with more of your questions about the area! And sorry if I don't respond  in my next e-mail. I hear the mail system is slow here... I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
