Abilene week 12

Elder Moffitt & Elder Martin in the cockpit of a B1
Well, I am sure you are all wondering what happened to me, and why on earth you haven't gotten an e-mail from me all day. Thus, I figured I should send you these pictures first as an explanation. We went on like a 5 hour tour of the Dyess Airforce base here. We got to see some really cool things and it was fun. Here is me and Elder Martin in the cockpit of a B1. I'm not sure if we were really allowed to take pictures... but we did, so here ya go. Some people said we couldn't, but some said it was ok to take pictures. I listened to those ones. Haha!
District Photo
Last week of the transfer, so of course we had to take a district photo!!!! That was my district this transfer. It was fun. And now that you are dying to know what the results of this transfer are, I guess I can tell you. Plain and simple. Elder King and I are both staying in Abilene. We are still companions. The only difference is that now we are solely Spanish Elders. No more 2nd ward for us. It should be an exciting transfer!
Me in the cockpit again.  I don't know, I tried to get the cheesiest smile I could.  Did it work out?

Me at one of the control panels in the airforce base. In this building they tested the B1 engines. Did you know when the engines are going on full power there is like a 30 foot jet of flame shooting out the back. Pretty legit. We didn't get to see that though. Y'know it costs them like $15,000 every time they even do a test with the engines. They said one hour of flight time for a B1 costs about $60,000. Money is thrown around like candy at a parade by the government. Seriously.

Here are all the missionaries who went to the base today. It was quite a fun trip. All the weapons and technology are so crazy. Some of those futuristic war movie things that seem so far fetched are actually real. It was pretty awesome.

This picture has 3 important elements....
Elder Nick Moffitt
Most Importantly!
First, the tie I am wearing is the one I got from Martha, Nicolas, Nadie, Trini, and Jackie. Second, the notebook I am holding is my first filled journal from the mission. And third, the orange juice I am holding says "QUALITY CHEKD" which I just thought was funny because checked wasn't spelled out and so it didn't seem very quality to me. Maybe that's just me, but I think it's a good picture.
Me at my favorite restaurant in Abilene, "Rosa's Cafe"
It is my favorite because it is delicious, and because we get free food there once a week because a guy in our ward is one of the managers. And clearly, we had an expert photographer because Elder King was half cut out. Oh well, at least on my other side you get to see plenty of the wall.....
I knew Courtney and Meagan would love this picture!
When we went to visit Kayla and her G-ma, Sonia, this week they had a cute new puppy. I had to get a picture with it.

Here we are rolling down the street when all of the sudden... bam! I saw this car. I made Elder King turn around so he could see it and so I could get a picture. This is the thought that came to my mind when I saw it "It's so sparkly I'm going to die!!!!!" Ok, I know the quote is actually "fluffy" not sparkly," but that's what the car made me think of.
Water for the week!
Here is our trip to re-fill our water for the week. We also filled some for Elder Hancock and Elder Pasqualle, so yes we have a ton. And we thought it was nice and cute to buckle our water safely in. Don't judge. It says that in the scriptures.
New Transfer Planner
Here's my new planner cover for the transfer. Can you guess the theme? Pretty awesome huh? Well, that article in the Ensign this month was just really good, and since the pictures in it were so cool I had to make a planner cover out of it. Plus, the quotes go so perfectly with it.

Well, I hope you liked my unusually large amount of pictures. Don't think it's going to be a regular thing. I loved your pictures too! It looks like everyone back home is having a great time. That's good to hear. I also loved getting 4 letters from you this week! Everyone wrote me a letter! Whoo! that was sweet.

Anyway, P-day is almost over because that base tour took a loooooooooong time and because Elder King went mountain biking this morning which took some of our time away too. It's all good, but I don't have too much time now. We had 3 investigators at church this week. Nicolas, Eliseo, and Katarino. Yes, Katarino is new. Apparently, the sister missionaries left some cards on doors when they went knocking, and he called asking for a Book of Mormon. Except he didn't really speak English, so they gave him to us. We taught him once, and he loved church on Sunday. He's an old, slightly handicapped (from a car crash) hispanic guy, exactly the same as Cristobal. So yeah, they're already friends. It's exciting. We're going back to teach him tonight too.

Eliseo I think is much more ready than last time we taught him. This Sunday he even brought his wife Nita (whom we actually now think is his girlfriend, not his wife) to church with him. I talked to her for a while on Sunday and she says that she and her sister Melissa (the mom of Alexandria and Alizay. Yes, the whole hispanic culture in Abilene is either related or they somehow know each other...) don't really want to go to church because they just feel so overwhelmed. In the last year their grandma, dad, and cousin died. That is a lot to go through. But for me, that would only make me want to go to church even more. I think we just need to get her to see that it's not just some extra thing to make life harder, but that being active in church can help her. We saw Alexandria when we went over to teach Eliseo, but we couldn't set anything up, and we never got to meet with her this week.

We also never got to meet with Nicolas. And we didn't get to meet with Cesar and Kathy either!!! We had an appointment with them set. But they weren't there. And since both of their phones got turned off for now it is impossible to get into contact with them. It's ok. We still know where they live. And through Sonia (Kathy's mom) and Jenine (Kathy's sister) we can still work into talking with them. Well, I have about a million more things to tell you about this week (as always), but I gotta go!
