WHOOOOO!!!! Ana got baptized on Saturday! We had some drama leading up to it with having to get President Augustin to do the interview over the phone, instead of just our normal district leader. But it all worked out, and she passed with flying colors. Her testimony has blossomed and bloomed since I have been here, and it has been really amazing to see. Also, this is Yoana, Ana's daughter who was baptized about a month ago.

Then the sisters also had a baptism this week. His
name is Jeremy, and I had the opportunity of baptizing him. Then on Sunday I
was able to give Ana the gift of the Holy Ghost, in Spanish. Great 2 days I
would say.
Lupe and Genaro's baptism! Elder
Yorgesen, who took my place in Abilene sent up this picture this week. Then in
my ghettoness, I took a picture of the picture, so that's what you get. As you
may have noticed, Elder Banks is nowhere to be seen. He must have been
emergency transferred out of Abilene. I don't know what's up. I can't imagine
he did anything wrong. He's the most obedient missionary ever, but I'll write
him today and find out what's up.Lupe and Genaro |
Here we are before the baptism,
shoveling the church parking lot to make sure everyone could get in nice and
safe. Saturday was also the one day it warmed up, so God was helping us out
that day for sure. It's a good thing we did some shoveling too. One of the
recent converts of the sisters pulled in gunning it, sliding all over the
place. He was heading over towards Sister Rocha, and she dropped her shovel and
ran away screaming, tripping on the way. It was pretty funny… Y'know, if it
wasn't for her almost getting hit by a truck. In all reality though, she was
fine. The truck was still far away from her when it was spinning out, but it
was funny nonetheless.
With all the cold weather (thanks for the jacket and the headband again. They saved me this week for sure) there were some frozen pipes of course. So we had some good opportunities for service with helping people out with that this week
Here I am in Samael's house going into a little crawl hole under their floor. They had a little heater, and I brought it down, put it next to the pipes and turned it on. Within the next half an hour their water was running again. It was a good time. And I got some good pictures out of it too.
This week Elder Pahulu decided if you don't have good stories and pictures, then how will anyone really know you served a mission?

YOLO…that's our new motto thanks to
Elder Pahulu. After finishing up service we were in dirty clothes, and we
decided, why not jump in the snow? So we did.It was so so so cold. Anyway, I
hope you enjoy the pictures. They were painful, but worth every second.
And an update on the missionary
work. We are only in February of 2014, but the Pampa ward has already had more
member present lessons and more baptisms in this month and a half than the
entire year of 2013. YOLO, right?
And an update on Elena. She was at
the baptism and the confirmation. Her son, Zander who is 9 years old was also
at church on Sunday. We're pushing hard for them both to be baptized this
Saturday, only 5 days away. She's awesome though. She said she was praying
really hard during the baptism, and she thinks she got her answer. Isabella
wasn't able to make it to church because her pipes froze Sunday morning and she
wasn't able to get ready on time. Dang. It will be good for her to have the
extra week to work on some commandments, though. Elena last night let us borrow
her Insanity workout CDs. I didn't realize they were so expensive. But this
morning was our first time using it, and boy... it'll make you sore for sure.
Anyway, I just got a package from
you guys again! and one from both grandparents. I have yet to open them, but I
am excited to see what's inside!
