Pecos week 3

This week as we were walking around we saw this house that had a huge pipe leaking water, but no one was home. So, I crossed this couch in the middle of all the water to go over and try to stop it. I couldn't do it, but I tried anyway and got a picture out of it.
Last p-day I found this odd fruit called a pumello in the store, so of course I had to buy it and try it. It turns out to be like a giant, green, less sour version of a grapefruit.

Mini ping pong. Me vs. the high school tennis master Elder Palmer. Needless to say, I lost every time!
I did get your package this week! And I also got the package from Grandma and Grandpa Coats. Thank you so much everyone for sending me so many goodies! I am loaded up for now, and so I will not be needing any extra food or clothes or anything. It was actually funny you sent me some gloves. The first week I was here I was really cold, so we bought some gloves at Walmart. Then like the very next day Cesar gave us some brand new gloves too, then you sent me some more. So I am very loaded up.  I also got your letter that was sent to the mission home because we had a surprise visit from President Heap in a zone training this week again. It was due to a Christmas initiative the church is starting this Friday, the 28th. It is called "He is the Gift." It's all about how Jesus was the first Christmas gift ever given. It's about a 3 minute video and the website is going to be christmas.mormon.org  You should ALL invite ALL of your friends to watch the video. It is literally the most harmless invitation you could ever make. During christmas, about Jesus. What can be easier right? I think it's pretty awesome. From december 1st to January 1st the church has bought billboards in NYC Time Square advertising it and on the 7th of December the church will be the ONLY advertiser on all of Youtube so I hear. That is pretty dang legit. Anyway, starting Friday you should invite all your friends to remember the true meaning of Christmas by watching the video with them. It'll be great.

We were able to teach Cesar and his family one time this week. We had one of the members come. The spirit was really strong, and all the little kids were even kept well involved. The only problem was that we had like 3 lessons set up with them later on in the week, and they've had to keep cancelling on all of them. Pray that we'll be able to actually teach them again this Tuesday for our next lesson. Jessica keeps coming to church. Last night we went over there, and as soon as we walked in the door, Bro Bradley told us how we had the most perfect timing possible because he was about to pick up a cigarette, but that he would never smoke around us. Pretty awesome.
This week there were 45 people at church. Elder Palmer and I gave mini thanksgiving talks in church. I also got a little envelope from the Vienna ward activity days, and that was pretty cute. All of the cards were for Christmas, but woops I already opened it.

And these 2 pictures are from this week when we did a few hours of service at a food bank that the local Catholic church was doing. We met the Catholic Father and everything. It was pretty sweet!

This week we had a branch thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night, and we are invited to go to the Smith's home this Thursday for Thanksgiving.

I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
