Pecos week 14

This week we destroyed a little cinderblock wall and then started to build a real deal metal fence for one of the members here. About 20 minutes before we showed up they had just killed a goat. They ended up giving us lunch: fresh goat.
Not your usual meal though. We ate the guts. Here I am eating some goat intestine. Not my favorite, but I had to try it all out. When is the next time I will have such an opportunity?

Here’s a couple pictures to start this week off with our district meeting.  From our last district we had three missionaries go home, so we have lots of new faces this time.  Starting from the left we have ME, then Sisters Bleyl and Krouse in the front.  Then it’s a chaotic  mis, but Elders Oler, Banegas, Larkin, Schofield and Sork.  We had a good time taking pictures as well.

Here we are waiting for district meeting to start

And then afterwards we wait as car inspections are performed (the one bonus of not having a car. Yay).

This week was a good one at church. I counted a total of 57 people. Jessica was there as usual. Danny had to work. This week he gave up coffee too!

We have been very blessed with teaching lots of new people this week. We have been working hard with the members and we were able to get some great referrals this week. We started teaching Larry (a 21 year old active member) and his wife Marisa. They are both super cool. We also started teaching this other 21 year old guy named Hayden who is the son-in-law of another member in the branch. Finally, we are teaching a Spanish couple we found by knocking into them, Gilberto and Petra. Elder Larkin had a "fun" time in our Spanish lesson there.

When you are wearing a button up white shirt your collar and your sleeves go about 2 inches longer than a regular t-shirt. Hence, when you lend service in a normal shirt on the hottest and sunniest day for half a year you tend to burn that sensitive white skin in that area. Random fact: This week I found out that Elder Larkin is a computer genius.

I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
