Pecos week 13

We found another super Texan mailbox.

Hola mi familia! What a full week. Elder Palmer is back in Utah. Some of the branch members told me how he had friended them already on Facebook. Usually when you sign people's journals you give them your address or e-mail so they can write you, but I didn't realize until he left he didn't give me anything. What a punk!

Anyway, I spent a Tuesday and most of Wednesday with Elder Sork while I was waiting for Elder Larkin to get here. The week started off warm up in the 80s, but has now cooled down a lot again.
Here is Elder Larkin and I at the end of his first week in Pecos. Can you tell the difference between a brand new missionary and a really old one? I guess my shirts aren't that white anymore... Now for a little bit about Elder Larkin: He is 19 years old. He is from Las Vegas, Nevada (which everybody loves to comment on). He is the oldest of 4 siblings, and his family is all members. For the last six weeks he was in the Mexico MTC, but he's still working a lot on his Spanish (even though he is half Mexican). There's your basic overview.

Here's a picture of me starting off my e-mails this morning. Whoo!
Would you guess it? Satan has been trying really hard to get at John and his family this week. Their car broke down, but we got a member to come with us to work on it. We had a couple lessons there this week, but everyone in the family was all fighting with each other quite a lot. Then Nancy got sick on Sunday, and even though we had a ride for Sarah and John they didn't want to come to church because their mom didn't come. Essentially, they are still in need of lots of prayers.

Jessica was at church as usual. Danny had to work. Pray that he can get more Sundays off too. The oil field shows no mercy for getting Sundays off. Good news for Javier: Since we gave the missionaries over their his info, they finally got over to see him and said they had a great lesson. It doesn't look like he'll be in Pecos anytime soon, but at least the other missionaries will have a great shot at teaching him! This week at church we had 77 people. Whew. We had the bonus of Van Horn up for fast Sunday, plus a few others. Our little chapel was just about bursting at the seams. That's about it for my simple update of the week. I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan (hopefully you're still reading these letters way out in Utah)! I love you Courtney!

How about this great sale we saw?
