Pecos week 17

This is probably the most missionaries that have ever been in the Pecos apartment. We did some massive 4 way exchanges this week, so it caused some fun times.
Before Elder Palmer left he made me promise I would take care of his tree (he told me her name is Nicole). I said I would. Good thing she doesn't need water every day or she would have died the first week. Anyway, I still water her.
Another cold week in Pecos Texas.
Since it was cold we decided to try and spend a little more time inside. Obviously we can't just sit around in the apartment, so we used this time and called literally every former investigator in the area book. That took several hours. We got lots of no answers and wrong numbers, but a few people said we would be able to come back. Here are a couple funny responses from our phone calls. Elder Larkin told one lady, "hi this is the missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" and she responded "oh I already donate to the missionaries at my church." He starts to say "oh no ma'am, we're not..." and then she hung up. Another good one was the next day after we made all the calls we got a call back from one of the ladies and she apologized for missing our call. When we told her we were the missionaries she was like, "oh sorry I'm busy right now I can't talk," and hung up. Really... Really?

For our investigators... Larry received the Melchizedek priesthood a few weeks ago and yesterday he blessed his twin baby girls. He invited us into the circle with them, and the spirit was so strong. Oh wow. I hope Marissa felt it. We're making progress with them. Not super rapid, but it's going.

We had a couple lessons with Sam this week which went pretty well. Everyone in the family likes us, but Sam is the only one that really seems intent on listening and changing. He said this week everytime he drank some sweet tea his little sister told him he wasn't supposed to and then he felt really bad. On Friday Sam went to seminary. Yes, early morning seminary. He liked it. In fact, he said he's thinking of just making it a regular thing and going every day.

No lessons with Hayden. Gilberto and Petra want to cut down to 1 lesson a week with us. We've been trying hard to get members out with us to them, but recently we haven't been able to. As soon as the members stopped coming their progress stopped too. Any correlation?
One last funny story this week. Yesterday I was explaining something to Elder Larkin and I gave some big analogy and took like 5 minutes to explain it. When I finished Elder Larkin was like, "you know you could have said all that in literally one sentence?" I immediately thought, "oh man. I am totally turning into dad." I am my father's son. I love it.

I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
