Pecos week 18

Yep......breaking and entering!
You get creative when you need to make copies at the church and the door to the library is locked.
We did indeed receive our transfer calls, the last ones for me. Elder Larkin and I will both be staying in Pecos. Oh yeah!

We did some helping out this week with fixing computers and bringing members with us to fix Nancy's car (still no mechanic skills here).

Church was a little low, only 44 there this week. Jessica was there, but Danny had to work. They can't wait to get married and baptized, I'll tell you that. Gilberto and Petra made some progress this week realizing that they don't like a lot of the things that are taught in the church they're going to. We're like, "uh, then why are you still going there?" Larry and Marissa are doing well. They're having us over for dinner tonight. Sam is out for spring break this week and won't be back until next Monday. We randomly ran into Javier again! What a great stroke of being in the perfect place at the perfect time to find him in Pecos again. Most of the time he's still over in Andrews, and the other missionaries there have taught him a couple times too. He's still on board, but we probably won't have many chances to teach him seeing as he's in Pecos Wed-Fri.

This week we have been plowing through the area book like crazy again visiting tons of former investigators. We have been able to clean out like 20 forms of people who have moved to different houses (getting rid of clutter in the area book and helping future missionaries). Plus, we were able to find 3 former investigators who are willing to listen to us again. We have taught them all another lesson so far, and things are looking good. Their names are Pedro (Spanish), Alex, and Becky. They're pretty cool cats. Pedro is actually the dad of one of the less active members in the branch. He has lots of potential. Turns out he said the other missionaries and him didn't understand each other very well due to their not great Spanish skills. Hopefully the gift of tongues will be with us to help him like us better :)

There were a couple warm days this week. yay!

Last transfer. Last planner cover. On the front here we have the first vision. I love sharing the restored gospel with people, and this is my last six weeks to do it full time. Then on the back I have the fam because I get to see you guys at the end of the transfer. Crazy. Let's not think about that too much right now.

Overall a very good week. Elder Larkin is starting to like mission life better and better. That is the hardest thing for him, just enjoying being a missionary… And Spanish. He is doing great at teaching lessons in English though, and we are getting along well. This week I was reminded of something pretty cool. The devil knows that some of us are pretty strong souls. He knows he can't tempt us into doing some big sin. He knows we don't even like doing the little sins and try our best to avoid them. His best weapon is often discouragement and trying to make us doubt ourselves. Once he gets us with that then those other sins start to creep in more easily. Don't let him get you down! The Lord loves you and he wants you to be successful and happy!

I love you Mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
