Pampa Week 9

Happy 20th Birthday!
Oh yeah, we got the pizza alright. I was wondering what type of pizza you would send. Thanks! Good choice with the BBQ chicken :) Don't worry, I had the patience to wait and open everything on my birthday. We already used the insanity this morning. And I ate a whole bag of those chocolate pretzel snacks the day I opened them up. We've also been listening to the Spanish CDs. Thank you so much for all the presents! The neon "Uno Mas" shirt was really cool too. Lots of people always ask us how old we are, and it's weird telling them I'm 20 now.

Here is a picture of Elder Pahulu and I in our new sweaters that Yoana and Ana bought us. They got one for me for my birthday. Then they got one for Elder Pahulu so he didn't feel left out. haha. Elder Pahulu was pretty funny. The whole day of March 14th he told everyone it was my birthday, and thus milked out a trip to the ice cream store from our ward mission leader.

In terms of how many lessons we taught this week. We set a new record. We taught 12 member present lessons this week. If you break it down and say that's less than 2 lessons a day, but 12 is actually double of what seems to be the weekly average, so BOOM! This week we picked up some new investigators too. 1) Ernie and Misty (30s) and Sebastian (their 8 year old son): We found them right after we had finished teaching a lesson. We were walking outside to the car, and Ernie was outside at the next house down. So we walked over and started talking to them. They definitely need the gospel. They're going through some really hard times and I know the gospel can help them make it through it. As we taught them the restoration, both Ernie and Misty paid such close attention, and at the end accepted a date to be baptized on the 5th of April. We will definitely need some work on that one because they'll need to get married too.

 2) Denzel: He's a 21 year old guy we found outside working on his truck. We walked up and started talking to him, but he didn't say anything back. So..... we stood there for about a minute awkwardly and then tried talking to him again. This time he talked to us and told us we could come back to his house sometime. We did, and ended up teaching him a shaky restoration lesson on his porch. But by the end he really opened up and accepted a baptismal date for the 5th of April.

3) Marcos and Maria: It was past 9:30 Monday night and we pulled up at a little water pump to fill up our gallons for the next day. We were exhausted and didn't feel motivated, but since we were having little success and I was fed up with it I just went over and started talking to Marcos who was filling up his water too. He ended up saying we could come back to his house and we were able to teach him one time this week.

All of our other investigators you already know about aren't making too much progress currently. James wasn't able to make it to church this week. We saw Isabella once and found out with her two jobs her work schedule is from 10 in the morning until 9 at night. And we weren't able to get into contact with Diego and Janie this week despite all of our efforts. So I suppose it's a good thing we were outside lots and were able to pick up some new investigators this week!
Elder Moffitt painting
Here we are at the beginning of the week doing service for Yoana,  helping to paint her house. It was lots of fun actually, and I was pretty good at not getting too much paint on me. While we were painting, her 3 year old son Ian was watching Monster's University in Spanish in the same room. So I basically ended up seeing like 3/4 of the movie. Extra blessing for doing service?
Elder Moffitt fixing a members broken water pipe
A less active, but returning member of the ward here in Pampa had her pipes break this week. We went over with our faithful, Spanish speaking member  Bro. Christensen (who also moved away this week, sad) to help her out. As you can see, we had to do a little digging to get to the pipe, and then we got some new pipe and replaced it. It's all fixed now, and she was at church on Sunday too!
Elder Pahulu

I kept seeing all these yards like this and telling Elder Pahulu "Man, why is everybody just spray painting their yards to look green?" I was joking of course; it's just a pesticide/weedkiller they put on it before spring starts.

Elder Pahulu petting a horse we found in the middle of the city.
Thanks for making this birthday a good one with all the presents and awesome letters. I hope you are still enjoying all the snow and aren't too sick of it by now. I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
