Samaelito and Elder Moffitt having some piano practice! |
This week we took a road trip up to
a town called Canadian, about 45 miles away, for the sole purpose of giving a
blessing. Canadian is the sister's area, but there is not a Melchizedek
Priesthood holder in the town, so we were the only option. Crazy stuff. When we
were driving back it was really dark, and I told Elder Pahulu we should put our
brights on. It was a good thing we did, because only a few minutes later we
almost hit a deer, but we were able to see it in time and avoid an accident. On
the way up we saw this random dinosaur statue on the side of the road.
Wow! You guys have a ton of snow! I
am jealous of your winter. Although, as a missionary snow is no fun. But if I
were home I would love all that snow! I bet Meagan and Courtney are loving it
too. Except by this point they probably have to go to school until July. haha.
No letter yet. It will probably get here today. Although this last week I did
get a letter from Elder Banks. Turns out he was emergency transferred on
Monday, only 5 days after I left. He was sent to a little town called Kermit,
to train a missionary named Elder King (what are the chances?). He says they
live in a little one roomed place they call "the shack." They have a
curtain that divides the bathroom and the bedroom. Sounds pretty ghetto. Elder
Pahulu is from Hauula.
And here is Elder Pahulu planting a tree and
watering it with Mango soda. Good times.

Well, we are not really sure what's
going on with Isabella right now. She just got a second job. With all of that,
she wasn't able to make it to church on Sunday. And she didn't answer our texts
all day Sunday either. We don't really know if everything is ok with her or
not. We had a couple really good lessons with her earlier on in the week, but
now we're not sure how she's doing. Elena is even less interested it seems. We
don't know what happened to her either. She used to be even more excited about
the gospel than Isabella, but now she doesn't seem to want to meet with us all
that much. Tough week.
Diego and Janie and doing well. They
were not able to make it to church because we had a snow storm on Sunday
(although we don't buy that excuse because there were some other people who
made it out from Panhandle). We were able to have a couple lessons, and also
found out we need to push their date back because Janie is still working on
overcoming smoking.
Yoana is a super star. This week she
brought us to her friends house so we could give him a blessing. Then we went
right into teaching him the restoration. His name is Rosario. He seems like a
pretty closed guy, but a couple times during the lesson he really opened up and
was able to feel the spirit. He wants to know which church is right and follow
God's plan for him, so hopefully this week we'll be able to teach him again and
help him get his answer.
Here we are out at a restaurant this
week. Chili cheese burger. Never had one until I got out to Texas, but it's
super good.

We were able to get a couple cool
pictures in Canadian next to this big spur. Oh, Texans. Typical making random
big things.
I'll end this letter on an exciting
note. Guess what happened to me this week? I got a kiss! Yep. 100% true
statement. Now I'll explain myself a little bit. This week we had stake
conference and Elder David Baxter from the 70 came and talked. After it ended
we went up and shook his hand. Then he pulled me in, gave me a big hug, a kiss
on the cheek, and told me he loved me. Pretty awesome experience I think. I
love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
I wanted to share one more thing. Doctrine and
Covenants 29:6 "And as it is written-Whatever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive."
Thank you for always praying for my investigators!
