Pampa Week 11

APRIL FOOLS...very funny!

April fools... oh you are so clever aren't you guys? This morning we went to refill the money on our laundry cards and found a package in the office. Sweet! That is until I opened it and found it full of shredded paper. Pretty funny, not gonna lie. Elder Pahulu and I got a good laugh out of it.
For the next few weeks the library in Pampa is closed for renovations, so we drove 27 miles out to Panhandle to do our e-mails this morning. For a town of 2,500 the library here is actually super nice though. And they have a dairy queen in Panhandle. I have only been once my whole mission, so today may make #2...

We found a pump jack at the edge of town. Too irresistible to take a picture by it. Did you know it is a federal crime to get on and ride one? Loco.
This week we went out to teach Diego and Janie at one of the member's houses. They cooked us some spam tacos. So good. When I get home, I think I am going to incorporate spam into my regular eating schedule.
We have taught them at this member's house every single time. It's really some awesome fellowship. There are 2 families out here in Panhandle that are super awesome fellow-shippers to Diego and Janie. They both had to go through some super rough trials this week. It was pretty crazy. I won't get into details, but suffice it to say, Satan was working extra hard to derail them from the right path. I believe that it is only due to the extra help of these couple members out here that they made it through everything.

As for Isabella, every time we meet with her she seems super excited and says how much she wants to be baptized. But, lately she just hasn't been showing it by her actions. She hasn't been reading. She didn't make it out to church again, even though she wasn't working this Sunday. Although, her uncle, David, who we have been teaching a little bit did make it out to church. So that was neat.

Wanza has been reading the Book of Mormon and has commented to us how she really enjoys our visits and feels something "different" when we come over. She was planning on coming to church. We had a ride for her and everything, but she wasn't there Sunday morning when he went to get her, so we don't know what's up right now.

We are also teaching this guy named George. I don't know if I have told you about him yet. He actually gets everything we tell him. We have only taught him twice, but each time he is amazed at how we say things and how much everything makes sense. He even read a chapter from the Book of Mormon as well. He's 44, but looks like he's in his mid 30s. We'll see what happens there.
This week at church there were over 100 people there again. We had 4 Spanish families there this time. Whoo! Represent! Lupita (I don't know if I told you that's Samael's step-mom), Big Samael, Samael, Christopher and Gabriella, the little baby came out to church. They are actually getting really good at coming out now. It seems like every other week, or even more they're making it out to church.  Elder Pahulu had the honor of giving Gabriella her baby blessing. It was really sweet.

Did I forget to mention... Diego and Janie got baptized this week!

I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan (cute new glasses by the way)! I love you Courtney!
