Abilene week 4 round 2

This tie definitely wins the ugly tie contest!
I tried to get a selfie with both of us on our bikes, but I accidentally cut out Elder Cruz-Garcia.
Service is always a fun time. This week we did some pretty random stuff. From building fences, to feeding some cats, to scraping paint off a building...
After scraping the paint off the building for like 2 hours for these people we found out that it wasn't actually their house. It was their job. And we were basically just being their free workers. So that was kind of lame!
This week we had to put more air in our tires because our low air light came on. Without a little gauge it was hard to figure out which one was low on air, so we may have just ended up wasting a dollar, but y'know... whatever.
Look at this little gem we found biking around this week. Dive shop!
I don't know if I told you last week on our way out of the zoo we saw a snake outside in the grass, and we were mesmerized by looking at this dangerous animal OUTSIDE of the cage. Pretty exciting.
Good morning family, and happy birthday daddy! How is everything going back home? That is pretty cold. We actually wore our sweaters once this week no problem. It's finally getting out of summertime. That reminds me, I never sent ya'll a picture of my planner cover for this transfer. I made it back in the summer, and so it has some summer nature scenes on it. I was thinking a lot of appreciating the small moments in life. Sometimes that's hard to do especially as a missionary, but it is very important.

This picture is of a chili cook off with the Spanish branch and the 2nd ward on Saturday. There were some kids carving pumpkins on the side. While I was eating, Elder Cruz went over and started carving pumpkins with the kids. I thought it was so cute and I wanted to take a picture, but he wouldn't let me take one of him, so I had to go in there and pose for it just to remember the moment.

Another snap shot of the ward party.

Now a little more about the week. There were a total of 21 people at sacrament meeting this week. Low. No Azriel. No Leonardo. We were missing out on lots of people. We had a good lesson with Ana this week (no Sandra and Odalis for this one). She accepted to live the word of wisdom and law of chastity which was great. I also asked her if even though we can only teach her once a week if we could at least swing by and visit her every day, say hi, give her a scripture or something. Daily contact is so key. She accepted! Sometimes those visits turn into lessons anyway :) But they didn't make it to church this week.
Last night we got 2 new investigators! Nick and Silvia. They're a couple in their young 20s but they're not married. We had a sweet lesson with them that went over lots of random stuff from prophets to baptism to the law of chastity. We also talked to them about daily contact and they accepted! So we are seeing them tonight. They're pretty cool. And that's like all the investigators we have right now. We're hitting the streets to find more (that's how we found Nick and Silvia), and we're also hitting up lots of less actives to get them to church again. And right after that lesson we went and knocked on their neighbors house. Then a prostitute answers the door. Woops. We knocked into a whore house. Awkward.

Elder Cruz wants to be a cook when he gets back from the mission. So this week after doing some service for Bro Robles, he said we could cook up some of his food, so here we are grilling some fish and burgers. They were pretty tasty, and Elder Cruz got to do one of his passions.

Studies... exciting! (I actually do like studies though)
I love you dad! I love you mom! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
