This guy we found out in the street this week that makes super cool double decker bikes. After talking for like 10 minutes he offered to let me ride one, and how could I say no?
Tell both Grandparents Moffitt and Grandparents Coats thank you so much for the packages they sent! Elder Cruz was also really excited about his letter from ya'll. I do have something I want to send you mom for your birthday in a week, but I'll have to send it off next week. So, I didn't forget, But It's just coming down the line. Also, Shawn who we were teaching in Hereford got baptized a couple weeks ago.
This week the Abilene stake had a service project in
Winters Texas and all the missionaries were invited to attend. They ran out of
the famous yellow vests there were so many volunteers, so I didn't get to wear
one. But it was tons of fun. We ended up sanding down some basketball hoops and
the city hall sign, then painting over them again. More pictures on the way.
There were 2 basketball hoops we were assigned to
sand down and re-paint, but we only had one ladder. So, I decided to take
matters into my own hand and speed up the process. I shimmied up one of the
hoops and got started sanding to top while the ladder was over at the other
one. Unbeknownst to me, President and Sister Heap who came to the service
project went around to visit all the stations. Minutes after I had climbed up
to the top they arrived at the basketball hoops. Oh my gosh. It was a mixture
of extreme fear and also amusement as to see what was about to happen. Sister
Heap runs over and takes a bunch of pictures (which are on the blog they do. I
don't know if you know about it?) and then tells me to be very careful. Then
President Heap walks over and doesn't say anything. I just smile and told him
how I wanted to be more efficient with the work. He says, alright well be
careful Elder Moffitt. Whew.
Elder Yorgeson and Laudie over there team cutting
some wood. This week Elder Yorgeson came out to Abilene to do exchanges with
me. Elder King half trained Elder Yorgeson after he left from being with me. So
pretty cool relationship. We were actually able to do 8 hours of service this
week (our limit is 10), so that was pretty awesome.
And here
we are painting the city hall sign too. Looks pretty good I'd say.

So Elder Cruz likes to go to the bathroom a lot.
Sometimes in the wrong one. But guess who was waiting to capture the perfect
picture? Just look at that face....

Starting at the top left we've got
Elders Stringham, Squire, Orgerb, me, and Yorgeson. Then at the bottom we have
Sisters Miller, Kramer, Bearnson and Elder Cruz. There's our district

As for church there were 37 people
this week at Sacrament meeting. Sandra and Odalis made it out as well as
Leonardo. Our new investigator Nick is doing well. We tried really hard all
week to get in contact with him and we finally did last night. Turns out he got
a new job (he mentioned "Wow, I got that job right after I started meeting
with ya'll. Funny...). We had a sweet lesson and challenged him to be baptized
on the 22nd of November. He accepted! Pray hard for him because he and Silvia
will need to get married before then and he's got lots of bad influence working
against him right now. But he felt the spirit really strong. In fact, when we
left he told us, "Now be sure to call me tomorrow ok!?" How many
people tell you that?
I love you Mom! I love you Dad! I
love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
