pecos week 21

Zone conference

Here are all of us missionaries in the zone that are "dying" at the end of the transfer.

Condemnation!

Oh! I got your package. Thanks! We are chowing down on all the goodies. Gotta get them eaten in 3 weeks ya know? Hopefully I don't get too fat by then. Oh well, Courtney said she will exercise with me when I get back

Typical no car in Pecos. Every day is bike day.
Now for some updates on our investigators. This week was miraculous. Jessica, Marissa, Ruben, Gilberto and Petra came to church on Sunday. There were 72 people there, truly a full house. Danny was put on some new medicine this week and hasn't been feeling all that great. Be sure to pray for him that he gets feeling better. Larry had us over for dinner this week, but Marissa wasn't there this time. Ruben is a new investigator as of a couple weeks ago. We saw him every day this last week and due to that made HUGE steps with him. He doesn't have a car, and he was hesitant to come to church. We told him we would walk with him to church Sunday morning. So we did. And he came. We gave Gilberto and Petra a tour of the church during the week and they loved it. We had a couple members to come out and see them recently which helped. Then they finally made it to church and during the second hour we taught gospel principles in Spanish.
We had a few extra of the Spanish speakers come into the class, and it went great. Yesterday we were informed however that Gilberto isn't feeling to well and ended up in the hospital here. Pray for him that he gets feeling better. Elder Larkin and Elder Oler are going to give him a blessing there today, but I am on exchanges with Elder Sork in Kermit.

This week we had a great family home evening lesson with Cesar, Sam, Josh, Jocelyn, and CJ. We taught Lehi's dream and did a little object lesson in the backyard afterwards about getting to the tree of life and using the iron rod. They loved it. They had so much fun.
Sam went to seminary all week this last week too. His dad I guess doesn't want him to get baptized right now, but the family seems to be making some sort of progress.I'll share one more cool experience of this week with ya'll before I leave for the day. This week was the start of #BecauseHeLives. I don't know if you heard of it. That's what that picture came from on Sunday. The church made this new Easter video on helives.mormon.org Anyway, we were writing down things we were grateful for, showing the branch how they can post it on some social network and do missionary work that way. Also, you can show your friends the 2 1/2 minute video.

But after church we were riding our bikes down the street when some punk kids said some sarcastic comments to us. I just stopped and started talking to them (which is unusual because I usually don't talk to littler kids). We end up showing them the video on their smartphone. While we were watching it all the neighborhood kids gather around us and start watching it too. By the end there were like 15 kids all around us. It would have been the perfect picture. We gave them all pass along cards and told them to get their parents to watch the video. Haha.

Setting up for a dinner

Homemade lemonade. Turned out to actually not be that great.
