Pecos week 4

This week we randomly stopped and helped 2 people put up Christmas lights around their house. Both of them invited us back, so that was pretty sweet.

Thanksgiving morning we did some service over at one of the Catholic churches giving out thanksgiving meals to people. As you can see from the picture, I wasn't very happy about it at first. I know. Rotten attitude. But I kind of just wanted to chill on my one of only 2 days off the whole year. But we ended up having a pretty enjoyable time.

Zone training this week in Odessa. Here we are with Elders Hilton and Banegas (I don't know if I told you they are also in our branch. But they're down in Van Horn. So yeah, they're probably the most isolated of any missionaries in the mission if you've seen a map). I put the camera on timer to get me in too, but I didn't leave enough room.
So I just ended up taking an extra picture of just me. We got free food at Wing Stop after zone training because a member owns it. Pretty awesome.

This week we were able to meet up with Cesar, Sam, and Josh once. As usual the lesson was great, but then we set up a lesson for the very next day and they cancelled on us. It's frustrating because when we meet up everything goes so well, but then afterwards it's hard to catch up again. Jessica was at church. We showed the Christmas video to their family and they loved it. I don't think I told you about Jose yet. But we finally had a real  lesson with him yesterday. He loved the lesson and says he believes everything we told him about Joseph Smith being the prophet and the Book of Mormon being the word of God, but then at the end he said he probably wouldn't change from being a Catholic. So that was kind of confusing to me.

There were 45 people at church this week. Elder Palmer and I were happy because 3 less actives that we visited this week showed up to church. They hadn't been since I have been here so far. But that is the main report from this week in Pecos Texas. Elder Palmer and I are getting along well and having a good time. I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
