Pecos week 6

We did get the twelve ways of Christmas package you sent and we're loving it so far. Thanks!
More Christmas cheer at the museum.
Christmas lights! All geared up for Christmas!

Yes, transfers once again. I will be staying in Pecos with Elder Palmer for his last transfer! This week during our planning he told me his goal is to not get trunky. So he asked me to not talk to him about going home or how long he has left etc. So of course what has everyone in the ward been doing this week? It wasn't me though. I am being very good about it. We did get the twelve ways of Christmas package you sent and we're loving it so far. Thanks! The branch did have a Christmas party this week. We invited lots of people. None of our investigators came, but lots of less actives did and that was great. Parties are always a good excuse to get people to come out to church.

These pictures here are from us cutting down a mesquite tree using an electric saw and a machete. We were told we needed to wear safety glasses too. Whatever it takes to yield a machete, right?

Elder Palmer's baby ficus tree.
This week we had some sweet lessons with Javier! He has been reading the Book of Mormon. When he doesn't understand it, he goes back and rereads the chapter again too. He loves it so far and is really recognizing the spirit. Those prayers are working! We challenged him to be baptized again, but he still wants to learn more in addition with talking to his wife about it. She lives in Andrews Texas. This weekend he went out there to spend it with her. Pray that everything went well with that. I think she's Catholic? There were 62 people at church this week in Pecos, and 53 in Van Horn. Apparently, a high school basketball team came up from a mormon school down in Mexico and went to church there. 53 people all crowded into a member's home for church. Imagine that!

For your information, Elder Palmer is a Spanish Elder. No, we do not get to use a car ever. So all those outside towns that we cover do not ever get visited by missionaries. We are stuck here in Pecos. But it's a big place to cover just on bikes, so it's ok.

Jessica was a church again this week. Good news for Danny: he has now been smoke free for 6 days! keep praying for him to go strong! On Sundays when he has to work, he has Jessica bring his Bluetooth to church, that way he can still listen in while he is working. Sometimes in Sunday School he even has Jessica make comments for him. It's pretty awesome.

Cesar turns out isn't too interested. But his step-son Sam IS. He told us it's alright if we keep teaching him, so we have been this last week and that has been going well. This week we're working hard at getting him to meet some young men in the branch.

Can you find what is wrong about this picture?

New transfer. New planner cover. Since it's Christmas, I had to get the Christmas theme going on. #sharethegift
Overall a good week. I hope it was good for y'all as well. I love you mom! I love you dad! I love you Meagan! I love you Courtney!
